Are there funds to support attendance?
We are working with several organizations at the moment to provide full to partial travel accommodation for students, early career researchers, underrepresented scientists, and invited speakers.
Please see below for opportunities.
Apply for U.S. Early Career Scientist Support
The National Science Foundation (NSF)
Travel awards are available for 15 U.S. early career scientists (students, postdocs, and untenured faculty) to attend CLAST2019. Travel awards will be used to cover costs incurred during meeting registration and domestic travel (~$1650 ).
This funding is generously co-sponsored by the NSF Geomorphology and Land-use Dynamics, EPSCoR, Tectonics, Sedimentology and Paleobiology, and Paleoperspectives on Climate Change programs.
How to apply? No extra forms are required. Awards will be determined from information provided on submitted applications to qualifying US applicants. Awardees will be notified at the same time as their registration decision.
Apply for International Student Travel Support
International Association of Sedimentologists (IAS)
IAS Student Members can apply for an IAS travel grant through the IAS website (http://www.sedimentologists.org). The IAS grant application page will be opening very soon.
IAS Travel grants are intended to be a contribution to the expenses of the student (travel, housing, registration), but not a full reimbursement of all expenses. For CLAST2019, individual grants will range between 200-700 Euros, depending on distance travelled, and on the number of applications received. IAS will facilitate selection of grants.
